DOT to host webinar on truck size, weight study progress

Washington – The Department of Transportation is scheduled to host a public outreach session on May 6 regarding its ongoing study of the safety and infrastructure impacts of increasing truck size and weight limits.

During the outreach session, which will be a webinar, DOT technical oversight officials and members of the study’s research team will be available to answer questions on the study’s progress.

The session is the third in a series of four that aims to provide DOT with feedback from the trucking industry and other stakeholders on the study, which must be completed by November 2014. Congress may use the study’s results to decide whether it would be appropriate to pass legislation to increase the current federal limits on truck size and weight.

Attendees must register to access the webinar, and the agenda and additional details will be released in the coming weeks.
