OSHA

Washington – Two OSHA advisory committees and their workgroups are scheduled to separately meet Dec. 1-2 in Washington, and the public is invited to attend.

The full National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health is set to meet Dec. 2 to receive updates from OSHA administrator David Michaels and NIOSH Director John Howard. The committee also will receive reports from its Emergency Response and Preparedness Subcommittee and its Temporary Workers Work Group; the latter report is on developing best practice language for temporary workers in injury and illness prevention programs.

The Temporary Workers Work Group is scheduled to host a meeting on Dec. 1. Requests to speak at either meeting are due Nov. 20.

Also on Dec. 2, OSHA’s Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health is slated to meet. Michaels will give remarks, and the Directorate of Construction will provide updates. Three ACCSH workgroups are scheduled to meet on Dec. 1. Stakeholders must submit comments and requests to speak at the meetings by Nov. 13.

OSHA also is looking for nominees for ACCSH membership. Nominations include two members to represent employees; two representing employers; and one each to represent the general public and state safety and health agencies. Nominations are due Dec. 28.
