Product Focus: Instruments and monitors

Worker safety monitoring device

The Loner IS is the first dedicated remote monitoring safety device that is Class I, Division 1 intrinsically safe. Featuring micro-electro-mechanical sensors, Loner IS delivers the world’s first True Fall Detection technology within a remote worker safety monitoring solution. Internal accelerometers and gyroscopes not only detect falls, but also trigger a safety alert in a man-down situation where a worker is motionless.

Sound-level meter

The Sound Examiner SE-400 Series of sound-level meters computes the average sound pressure level over the run time of the device, helping workers more accurately assess noise levels. The SE-400 Series features variable, user-selectable data-logging intervals; a backlit LCD; and a multi-lingual user interface. It is available with kits in Type/Class 1 and 2 microphones with and without calibrators.

Gas detection training system

The GasTrainer System provides hands-on experience with a four-gas detector without the dangers of an actual hazard. Designed to simulate readings from the four most common sensors – oxygen, hydrogen sulfide or carbon monoxide and LEL – the GasTrainer System can be used in work areas where hazardous materials dangers may exist, such as chemical storage facilities or near HVAC equipment.

Gas detector

The Ventis LS multi-gas detector has the ability to detect up to four gases, including hydrogen sulfide, oxygen, LEL, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide. In potentially hazardous conditions, the instrument alerts users through audible, visual and vibrating alarms. The gas detection information is then sent to a control room, where an operator can interpret the data.

Multi-gas detector

The ALTAIR 5X Multigas Detector simultaneously detects up to six gases. An instrument end-of-sensor-life warning reduces downtime and sensor inventory, MotionAlert signals “man down,” and InstantAlert allows users to manually activate alarms. Glow-in-the-dark housing makes it easy to see in a confined space. Offering easy bump tests, calibration and maintenance, and with a rugged housing, this detector is built for durability.
