FMCSA extends deadline for children’s art contest
Washington – The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has extended the deadline for the Be Ready. Be Buckled children’s contest to March 15.
Organized by the Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Belt Partnership, the contest looks for artwork that encourages commercial truck and bus drivers to buckle up behind the wheel. It is open to children in kindergarten through sixth grade who have a relative in, or are sponsored by someone in, the truck and bus industry.
The original deadline was Feb. 28. According to an FMCSA press release, the announcement of the contest’s 12 winners is still scheduled for March.
The Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Belt Partnership is a combination of government transportation safety agencies, professional associations and private-sector entities.
