OSHA maritime advisory meeting set for August
Washington – OSHA’s Maritime Advisory Committee for Occupational Safety and Health is scheduled to meet Aug. 19-20 in Washington.
The committee’s longshoring and shipyard workgroups are set to meet Aug. 19, with the full committee meeting the following day.
The full committee agenda includes an update on OSHA activities, and the workgroups are slated to discuss topics such as pedestal crane safety on commercial fishing vessels, prevention of chassis drivers from jostling in the cab in marine terminals, and log-handling safety.
The meetings are open to the public. Comments and requests to speak are due Aug. 1.
MACOSH advises OSHA on standards development, injury and illness prevention, and enforcement initiatives.
