We are required to turn off all communication devices when operating company vehicles, or when traveling on company business in rental vehicles.

Anybody surprised at the results so far? I wouldnt' have thought so many orgs have such policies. Mostly members of the nat safety council take these polls, i suppose. Would be interested in seeing figures on general adoption by business, mom and pop shops, non safety conscious business, etc

As a trucking company, we definitely have a policy since the fed govt prohibits using a handset while driving a commercial vehicle.

We've had an electronic distractions policy for quite some time now. I just wish there was a better way to actually enforce it better. Way too often I see one of our companies driver's on the phone while driving in the field.

Having the policy is the easy the part, which we do and have had in plcae since 2011. Getting individuals to comply, is and always will be the challenge. Based on our vehicle collision data, we still have a ways to go.

Yes we do. I have asked anyone that drives from our warehouse to pull over in order to talk on the cell phone

The policy is set within our company and like others will continue to educate and mentor individuals as to the importance of this implemented tool.
