DOL seeks feedback on creating ‘smarter regulations’
Washington – Stakeholders with ideas on how to streamline, expand or eliminate Department of Labor rules are invited to voice their opinions.
DOL is asking the public to provide input by April 1 on making “smarter regulations.” The department is specifically looking for feedback on inconsistent or duplicate rules, streamlining reporting requirements, and making regulations more flexible.
Among the suggestions currently under consideration:
- Update ammonium nitrate storage rules
- Create a safe patient-handling standard
- Require State Plan states to adopt federal OSHA’s penalty policy
DOL’s next regulatory agenda, which will outline the rules various agencies are working on, is expected sometime this spring.
