Last year I sent in a comment about the survey and I hope my suggestions were taken into consideration. My comment was that I hoped that the NSC would take fringe benefits into consideration for the next survey. It's hard to compare salaries and get a true apples-to-apples comparison when fringe benefits aren't being taken into consideration. For example, according to last year's survey, I'm at the very bottom end of the average salary range for others my age, with my education, and my experience (I'm at $60K in the $60K-$80K range). However, I also have a take-home company vehicle (maintenance and gas is paid for by the company), and the company pays for 100% of my family health insurance plan's premium. But the survey last year didn't address these types of benefits, and how they factor into salaries.
