NIOSH to host webinar May 29 on disability prevention, management
Washington – NIOSH is offering a free webinar on May 29 for professionals to learn more about disability prevention and management programs.
The agency’s Center for Workers’ Compensation Studies and Office for Total Worker Health are co-sponsoring the event, which is scheduled from noon to 2 p.m. Eastern.
NIOSH said the webinar could benefit a variety of employees, including:
- Occupational medicine physicians and nurses
- Disability case managers
- Workers’ compensation managers
- Labor officials
- Risk and insurance professionals
- Human resource or benefits professionals
Several experts are slated to speak about disability prevention efforts during the webinar. One is Kathryn Mueller, medical director of the Colorado Division of Workers’ Compensation as well as president of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. Another featured speaker is Gary Franklin, medical director of Washington Labor and Industries and a research professor at University of Washington.
The webinar will include a 45-minute question-and-answer session for participants.
