BSEE to host forum on offshore safety equipment failures
Washington – The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement has scheduled a public forum to discuss critical offshore equipment failures.
Set to take place Aug. 29, the agenda includes a discussion of connector bolt failure on the Outer Continental Shelf. BSEE has cited several failures, starting in 2003, of bolts used to connect blowout preventers, risers and other subsea equipment.
The agency also has created a webpage intended for government, industry and other stakeholders to share information related to these failures.
