I am still baffled why fall protection tops this list when falls lead the reasons for construction fatalities. Perhaps we (owners and safety managers) can emphasize training, planning and tools to minimize exposures to SIF (serious injury and fatality) hazards.

I've been a safety man a long time and the prob with fall pro tection is still an ongoing issue workers tell me they don't like the harnesses there to heavy they don't fit good or uncomfortable all excuses I've heard over and over. All I can say is stay in the field guys and keep watching them.

I've been in the construction business for 43 years and I've saw some pretty ridiculous things. but to here that fall protection is the top reason for construction fatalities. Someone is looking the other way.

If a employer uses a electric pallet jack or pallet jack on a small dock plate. Plus uses it more than 8 hours a day n heavy pallets full with product is this negligence.

Fall protection!!! I have worked for major corporations and for some reason it always seems to be very low on everyone's to-do-lists. Completely unacceptable, but somehow widespread.
