Oil and gas exploration safety: OSHA training institute publishes free video
Baton Rouge, LA — The OSHA Region 6 Training Institute Education Centers recently released a video on recognizing and controlling common hazards in oil and gas exploration.
The one-hour video features various topics critical to the industry and offers recommendations on how workers can prevent injuries and deaths. Hazard topics include:
- Falls
- Transportation
- Struck-by/caught-in/caught-between
- Hydrogen sulfide
- Heat illness
Registration is required to access the free video.
More than 450,000 workers are employed in the oil and gas exploration field, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and nearly 500 were killed between 2013 and 2017.
