‘2020 Economic Impact of the Safety Equipment Industry’: ISEA launches web tool
Arlington, VA — A new online tool provides a look at the economic and safety impacts of the safety equipment industry last year in the United States.
Users of the 2020 Economic Impact of the Safety Equipment Industry tool – developed by the International Safety Equipment Association – can access data such as the number of workers protected, jobs created, taxes paid, wages earned, and the total economic impact on each state and the District of Columbia via an interactive map. In-depth reports based on congressional districts, as well as an overall national report, can be downloaded.
Nationwide, the $71.6 billion safety equipment industry protected more than 111.1 million workers, created more than 345,000 jobs and paid $22.2 billion in wages.
“The safety equipment industry is a bright spot in the economy, serving as a stable revenue and job producer throughout the United States,” ISEA President Charles Johnson said in a press release. “We offer this free online state-by-state tool as a valuable service so that everyone, from industry and government stakeholders to curious consumers, can quickly and easily learn about the safety equipment industry’s impact and role in helping protect more than 111 million workers.”
