Washington — Forklift safety and operator training will be in the spotlight June 14 as part of the ninth annual National Forklift Safety Day, organized by the Industrial Truck Association.

A panel of safety experts, together with industry and government representatives, will participate in the free event, which will take place virtually and in-person at the National Press Club in Washington. Participation is open to ITA members, anyone who works in the material handling industry or government, and end users. The panel will address attendees at 9 a.m. Eastern.

In addition to OSHA administrator Doug Parker, the speakers include:

  • Chuck Pascarelli, president, Americas, Hyster-Yale Group (chair of the ITA board of directors)
  • Jonathan Dawley, president and CEO, KION North America (NFSD chair)
  • Rich Trahey, vice president, enterprise solutions, Dematic
  • Brian Duffy, director of corporate environmental and manufacturing safety, Crown Equipment Corp.

ITA works with OSHA to conduct compliance officer training seminars, provide workplace safety materials and communicate other information.

Registration is available online.
