OSHA advisory committee, work group on heat injury and illness to meet in September
Washington — The National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health has scheduled a virtual public meeting for Sept. 13, a day after its work group on heat injury and illness prevention is slated to convene.
According to a notice published in the Aug. 10 Federal Register, the work group will meet virtually at 1 p.m. on Sept. 12. The tentative agenda for the NACOSH meeting – set for 10 a.m. – includes updates from NIOSH and OSHA’s Directorate of Standards and Guidance, along with discussions on:
- Safety and health management systems and establishing safety as a core value
- Special emphasis groups
- OSHA’s Whistleblower Protection Program
- A report from the work group
The deadline to submit comments and requests to speak is Sept. 6.
The 12-member committee advises, consults with and makes recommendations to the secretaries of labor and health and human services on matters relating to workplace safety and health.
