Washington — OSHA’s Maritime Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health has scheduled a public meeting for Nov. 14.

The hybrid meeting is set for 9 a.m. Eastern. The committee’s Shipyard and Longshoring workgroups will meet at 1 p.m. Eastern.

The tentative agenda for the MACOSH meeting, published Oct. 3, includes:

  • Reports from the Shipyard and Longshoring workgroups
  • A presentation on OSHA’s social media and outreach platforms
  • A Navy presentation on maritime fall protection

The meeting will include updates from OSHA’s Directorate of Standards and Guidance, the Office of Maritime and Agriculture, and OSHA leadership on rulemaking for a standard on heat.

Advance registration is required. In-person attendance is limited to 25 people.

MACOSH advises the labor secretary on maritime standards and “matters pertaining to the administration of the Occupational Safety and Health Act related to the maritime industry.”
