OSHA advisory committee to meet in December
Washington — OSHA’s National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health has scheduled a meeting for Dec. 12.
The tentative agenda for the hybrid meeting – set for 10 a.m. Eastern – includes new member introductions; updates from OSHA and NIOSH; and discussions on the NIOSH Mental Health for Healthcare Workers Campaign, safety as a core value and whistleblower protections.
Anyone interested in attending must register in advance. In-person attendance is limited to 25 members of the public.
In related news, acting Labor Secretary Julie Su recently reappointed two NACOSH members:
- Cynthia Lewis, director of the Office of Professional Development and Program Evaluation at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Health Policy and Management, will serve as the Department of Health and Human Services’ designated public representative.
- Bobbi Jo Hurst, an employee health/infection control registered nurse at Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster, PA, will serve as HHS’s designated occupational health representative.
Their terms are set to expire Nov. 15, 2025.
The 12-member committee advises, consults with and makes recommendations to the secretaries of labor and health and human services on matters relating to workplace safety and health.
