Washington — Now available: a collection of new resources for the 11th annual National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction, set for May 6-10.

Created by NIOSH, OSHA and CPWR – The Center for Construction Research and Training, the stand-down encourages employers to focus on preventing fall-related deaths by raising awareness of hazards and the importance of fall protection.

The agencies and CPWR recently released a stand-down poster – available in English and Spanish – as well as hard hat stickers and hazard alert cards intended to assist in the effort. The poster calls on employers to:

  • Plan a toolbox talk or other safety activity.
  • Take a break to talk about how to prevent falls.
  • Provide training for all workers.

NIOSH, OSHA and CPWR also ask anyone with fall-prevention resources in other languages to contact Jessica Bunting at [email protected] so those materials can be included.

Employers can share their stand-down stories by emailing [email protected] or using the hashtag #StandDown4Safety on social media.
