Appropriations bill signed, sets transportation safety funding for FY 2014
Washington – A new appropriations bill signed into law Jan. 17 includes funding for transportation safety programs and agencies for the rest of the current fiscal year (which ends Sept. 30).
FY 2014 budgets include:
- Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration: $585 million ($24 million more than the FY 2013 enacted level)
- FMCSA’s Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program: $218 million
- National Highway Traffic Safety Administration: $819 million ($8.9 million more than FY 2013)
- The Federal Railroad Administration: $184.5 million for its safety and operations budget
