NSC publishes white paper on cell phones and driving

The National Safety Council has released a white paper describing the risks of using a cell phone while driving. The white paper, "Understanding the distracted brain: Why driving while using hands-free cell phones is risky behavior," addresses the lack of understanding about the dangers of cell phones and hands-free devices while driving. The white paper is available for free download on the NSC Website.

In the last 24 hours I've had 2 drivers merge over into my lane not looking at mirrors, out the window, using the directionals, only looking at their phones, I used my horn with one of them, the last weekend of July I was riding with friends in a SUV & the gal next to our vehicle starting merging over & almost put us in the ditch. Something has to be done about cell phone use in the car, & do away with touch screens in vehicles.
