OSHA unveils winter storm safety webpage
Washington – OSHA recently launched a webpage designed to educate employers on how to keep storm response and recovery workers safe during hazardous winter conditions.
The webpage features guidance on recognizing snowstorm-related hazards and preparing employees to remain safe when encountering heavy snow in front of workplaces and on rooftops, downed power lines, and icy roads.
The guidance details meteorology terminology, winter preparation for vehicles, advice on avoiding frostbite and hypothermia, and safety tips for snow removal with shovels or snowblowers.
