MIOSHA offers new matching grant program for small businesses
Lansing, MI – Up to $5,000 in matching grant funding is available for Michigan employers looking to purchase safety and health-related equipment.
The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration is distributing a total of $500,000 through the MIOSHA Safety and Health Improvement Program grant to mark the agency’s 40th anniversary.
“With a total of $500,000 available from MIOSHA, that’s a $1 million investment in keeping Michigan’s workers safe and healthy,” MIOSHA Director Martha Yoder said in a press release. To qualify for up to $5,000 in matching funds, applicants must have 250 or fewer employees, be under MIOSHA jurisdiction, and have a safety improvement project consistent with recommendations from a safety and health evaluation.
Priority will be given to small employers with certain projects, including lockout/tagout systems, noise reduction engineering controls and residential fall protection systems.
