MSHA schedules additional hearings on proposed civil penalties
Arlington, VA – The Mine Safety and Health Administration is scheduled to convene additional hearings in February on its proposed rule to change criteria for determining civil penalties.
The hearings are slated for Feb. 5 in Birmingham, AL, and Feb. 12 in Chicago. Post-hearing comments are due March 12.
These hearings have been added in response to public requests, according to MSHA. The agency previously hosted public hearings in December in Arlington, VA, and Denver. The post-hearing comment period for the December hearings is scheduled to close Jan. 9.
