Matt Garner “At 28, Matt was asked to take a leadership role in Poland for ConocoPhillips to build a safety program and sustain safety culture. Difficult in the beginning, due to cultural and personal mindset differences about safety, Matt’s initiative in developing a safety cultural improvement plan was the first example of leadership. Leading by communicating the plan constantly to others to the point where they also felt ownership was the second example. Lastly, his ability to inspire others led to a developed safety culture in Poland with 2.5 years, over 900 days, 1 million man-hours without injury and the change in mindset about safety at work and home.” |
