NSC announces finalists for 2019 Green Cross for Safety Awards
Itasca, IL — The National Safety Council recently announced the finalists for its 2019 Green Cross for Safety Awards – presented annually to individuals and organizations that have demonstrated safety excellence in workplaces, in homes and communities, and on the road.
Finalists for the three categories are:
Safety Advocate – Recognizes those who have made a significant impact on safety by raising awareness and bringing about change:
- Maryland State Police Professional Development Unit
- Progressive Agriculture Safety Days, a program of the Progressive Agriculture Foundation
- University of Central Florida
Safety Excellence – Recognizes a corporation, coalition or organization that relentlessly pursues safety:
- Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control
- Nationwide
- TransOptions
Safety Innovation – Recognizes a researcher, corporation or organization that approached a long-held challenge and developed a transformative response to the problem:
- Accenture and Chevron
- Dow
- Schneider
