Tepid water delivery system
The Therm-O-Mix tepid water delivery system provides an instantaneous and reliable source of tepid water for safety showers and face and eyewash stations using a plant’s existing steam and water supplies. Designed to supply tepid water for one shower/eyewash combo at a time, it ensures a code-compliant output of 80° F water to protect users from scalding or freezing temperatures and facilitate a full flush. Therm-O-Mix operates 100% mechanically using thermal actuator technology. When an emergency shower or eyewash is activated, the pressure drop on a diaphragm opens the unit’s steam control valve. Water and steam flow are established, instantly heating the water, and condensing the steam. After exiting the heat exchanger, the hot water enters a tempering valve and then a mixing valve where it is blended with cold water to produce an output of 80° F water. The steam valve remains closed should water supply be interrupted.
