Free course focuses on workplace violence in health care industry

Washington – NIOSH on Aug. 12 released a free online course intended to help nurses and other health care professionals recognize and prevent workplace violence.

Nurses can receive continuing education credits for taking the course, which is divided into 13 units and includes quizzes, videos depicting workplace incidents and nurses sharing their experiences.

According to NIOSH, health care workers represented approximately two-thirds of nonfatal workplace violence injuries over the past 10 years.
