L&I accepting public comment on new standard for health care network
Tumwater, WA – The Washington State Department of Labor & Industries is seeking comment through Dec. 16 on proposed standards (.pdf file) for health care providers who treat injured workers.
The standards are part of a larger effort to establish a statewide network of providers to treat job-related injuries and illnesses, under Substitute Senate Bill 5801 (.pdf file).
The final standards would go into effect in February 2012, with the network expected to launch one year later. Injured workers will then have to visit a network provider for ongoing care.
In addition to accepting written comments, L&I announced three hearings in December to obtain feedback on the proposal.
