May is National Youth Traffic Safety Month
The Teen Safe Driving Coalitions recognize May as National Youth Traffic Safety Month and have helped schools in 10 states organize activities designed to raise awareness about teen safe driving. The coalitions, managed by the National Safety Council and supported by The Allstate Foundation, have developed activity guides for participating schools. The Allstate Foundation will give monetary prizes to the school groups that host the most activities throughout the month.
Teen-led groups and their advisors will host school assemblies, distribute information sheets, check for safety belt use as students enter and exit school parking lots, hold contests with Wii video games, and more.
