OSHA seeking members for maritime advisory committee
Washington – OSHA is requesting nominations for membership on its Maritime Advisory Committee for Occupational Safety and Health.
Fifteen membership positions are open, and members will serve two-year terms.
The secretary of labor will select members to serve based on nominees’ experience, knowledge, and competence in workplace safety and health and the maritime industries, the agency said in an announcement published in the June 3 Federal Register. Membership is intended to be broad, with a diverse committee reflecting experience in shipyard, longshoring and commercial fishing industries, and representing workers, employers, and government and professional organizations.
Nominees may be new, former or current members. Nominations are due July 20.
