“Casey’s approach to safety is to help an employee see how safety connects the needs of the business and the needs of the individual. For example, an ergonomic issue was identified in an established program. Tooling would resolve the issue, but the decades-old program had no funding for tooling. Casey utilized OSHA’s Safety Pays website to demonstrate to Program Management the amount of additional product they would be required to sell to offset a back injury to an employee in the process. When this information was presented, Program Management immediately authorized funds to purchase a ~$4,000 assisted lifting device for the process.”
