NSC presents annual Green Cross for Safety Awards

Itasca, IL — The National Safety Council recently announced the recipients of its annual Green Cross for Safety Awards.

Presented May 16 during the Green Cross for Safety Awards Celebration in Chicago, the awards recognize individuals and organizations that have helped save lives and prevent injuries. Honorees were named in three categories:
The Excellence Award, presented to Nationwide
The Innovation Award, given to Schneider
The Advocate Award, presented to the Progressive Agriculture Foundation

The awards were presented May 16 during the Green Cross for Safety Awards Celebration in Chicago. This year’s event raised more than $757,000 to support NSC's efforts.

“Nationwide, Schneider and Progressive Agriculture Foundation all stood out for making safety a critical part of their efforts,” Nick Smith, interim president and CEO of NSC, said in a May 16 press release. “They share the council’s mission to eliminate preventable deaths and make the world safer. We are proud to honor them and to recognize all the outstanding finalists.”

The 2020 Green Cross for Safety Awards Celebration will take place May 14, 2020, in Chicago.
