NSC announces finalists for Green Cross for Safety awards
Itasca, IL — The National Safety Council has announced the finalists for its 2022 Green Cross for Safety awards, presented annually to individuals and organizations that have demonstrated leadership in keeping people safe on and off the job.
This year’s finalists “value safety each and every day,” NSC President and CEO Lorraine M. Martin said. “We are proud to recognize these teams for putting safety first so everyone can live their fullest lives. Thank you for doing what you do.”
The finalists are:
Safety Advocate, sponsored by First Transit/First Student – recognizes a community partnership, program, individual or coalition that has made a significant impact on safety by raising awareness and bringing about change
- Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) War Room
- Nutrien
- Paul Cheak
Safety Excellence, sponsored by United Parcel Service – recognizes a corporation, coalition or organization that relentlessly pursued safety
- Legends Hospitality
- Parking Concepts Inc.
- U.S. Steel Corp.
Safety Innovation, sponsored by Amazon – recognizes a researcher, corporation or organization that approached a long-held challenge and developed a transformative response to the problem

The recipients will be announced at the 2022 Green Cross Celebration on Sept. 20 during the 2022 NSC Safety Congress & Expo in San Diego. The event raises critical funds to support programs that provide education, resources and tools to individuals and employers to help keep people safe at work, on the road and everywhere in between.
