OSHA construction advisory committee to meet in March
Washington — OSHA’s Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health is scheduled to meet March 1.
According to a notice published in the Feb. 10 Federal Register, the meeting is set for 9 a.m. Eastern and will take place at Department of Labor headquarters. It’ll be conducted in-person and virtually. The tentative agenda includes:
- An agency update and remarks from OSHA administrator Doug Parker
- An industry update from the Directorate of Construction
- A presentation from the American Society of Concrete Contractors on hard hats and helmets
- An update on the National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction
- ACCSH workgroup reports
- A public comment period
Comments and requests to speak are due Feb. 23.
Before the meeting, three ACCSH workgroups will meet Feb. 28 – in-person and virtually. The meetings are slated for 9 a.m. (emerging and current issues), noon (infrastructure) and 2:15 p.m. Eastern (education, training and outreach).
ACCSH advises DOL and OSHA on upcoming standards affecting the construction industry and “the administration of safety and health provisions” in the Construction Safety Act.
