Oregon safety group’s media contest for high schoolers is back
Salem, OR — The Oregon Young Employee Safety Coalition is encouraging – with cash prizes – high school students statewide to create an advertisement for its annual media contest aimed at supporting young worker safety.
O[yes], a nonprofit organization dedicated to engaging and educating workers younger than 25, is challenging students to develop a video or graphic design that “grabs their peers’ attention” and convinces them to take the Young Employee Safety Awareness online training. Participants must choose a key message, theme or tagline that effectively captures the target audience’s attention in a “wise and positive manner, including constructive and effective messages and language.”
Video submissions should be no longer than 90 seconds.
Three prize winners in each category will be chosen, with first place awarded $500, second place $400 and third place $300. The two first-place winners’ school, club or organization will also receive a matching prize.
The deadline to submit entries is 5 p.m. Pacific on Feb. 21.
