Rail advisory committee to discuss safety measures
Washington – The Federal Railroad Administration’s Railroad Safety Advisory Committee is scheduled to meet Oct. 31 in Washington to address a number of rail safety topics.
According to an Oct. 10 notice, the meeting will feature status reports from various working groups in the committee, including the train crew size, securement, hazardous material issues, fatigue management and risk reduction groups.
The committee also is scheduled to discuss FRA’s progress on implementing safety measures directed by the Rail Safety Improvement Act, such as positive train control implementation, hours of service for rail workers and highway rail-grade crossing safety.
The meeting is open to the public.
