Rail advisory committee to host meeting in March
Washington – The Federal Railroad Administration’s Railroad Safety Advisory Committee is scheduled to meet March 6 in Washington.
According to a notice, the meeting will feature status reports from committee working groups on train crew size, securement, hazardous material issues, fatigue management and risk reduction. The meeting agenda includes opening remarks from FRA head Joseph C. Szabo.
The committee’s engineering task force also is scheduled to provide a status report. Among the task force’s responsibilities include investigating safer designs for passenger rail equipment and improving occupant protections for passengers and crew.
The meeting is open to the public. Documents from the meeting will be available on the committee’s website after the meeting.
