Agency releases guidance on oil and gas workplace safety rule
Washington – The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement on Oct. 24 issued a Notice to Lessees (.pdf file) that includes guidance for offshore oil and gas operators to comply with the Workplace Safety Rule (.pdf file).
The rule, which was issued in October 2010, requires operators to implement a safety and environmental management system by Nov. 15.
The notice clarifies issues raised by industry and interest groups, and explains how BSEE will implement its safety and environmental management system compliance program and interact with the operator community.
