FMCSA advisory committee to meet in June
Washington — The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Motor Carrier Safety Advisory Committee has scheduled virtual meetings for June 6-7.
According to a notice published in the May 18 Federal Register, the meetings will start at 9:30 a.m. The agenda includes briefings:
- By FMCSA and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on the most recent traffic safety data and data on crashes involving trucks and buses.
- On FMCSA’s Large Truck Crash Causal Factors study plan and objectives.
- On the National Roadway Safety Strategy, including the 2023 update released in February, followed by a new task (Task 23–1) relating to the identification of opportunities for FMCSA to collaborate with stakeholders to gain their commitment for additional actions to improve commercial motor vehicle safety for women.
- On the Department of Transportation’s strategic plan and FMCSA’s current strategic plan, followed by a new task (Task 23–2) regarding the agency’s efforts to prepare a new strategic plan for fiscal years 2024-2027.
