Before working at CSU, Corcoran served as an assistant area director for an OSHA enforcement office. Over the years, he has also worked as an OSHA compliance officer, corporate safety specialist and consultant, and has held academic positions at three universities. He has a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s in public administration (environmental option) from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Corcoran earned his doctorate in business from Touro University International in California. He is a certified industrial hygienist, safety professional and a member of the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. He was awarded the OSHA VII Leader of the Year in 2007.
