OSHA recently published its final rule updating its Hazard Communication Standard (1910.1200), aligning it with Revision 7 of the United Nation’s Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals, or GHS. Several years in the making, the final rule brings significant changes to everyone throughout the supply chain. These include revised classifications for several categories of hazardous chemicals to align with the classification criteria of those chemicals in GHS Revision 7, along with new requirements for container labeling and Safety Data Sheets.
