Master Lock has long been recognized as an innovator in the control of hazardous energy – Lockout Tagout through our support of a wide range of industries across global marketplaces. This seminar shares some of the best practice lockout solutions learned working with our industrial partners as well as insights from our participation on the committee extensively updating the ANSI/ASSE Z244.1 standard on lockout, tagout and alternative methods.
Details: This webinar starts beyond the basics. We will begin by discuss how to increase the effectiveness of written lockout procedures, and then move to how and when alternative procedures – where full lockout is determined to be impractical to apply – could be followed. This includes methods of task hazard assessment and the necessary documentation required to detail assigned work. Also, how to improve access and training to these critical safety procedures through an in-house mentoring program and electronic data management systems will be covered.
We believe, based on real-world experience, that if you have to walk more than 15 seconds to get the lockout equipment you need, chances are you are going to think twice about using it to protect yourself. We will cover aspects of incorporating lockout, tagout and blockout into common lean manufacturing and 5S strategies to empower efficient and consistent productivity.
We’ll wrap up with details on how transfer lock programs can heighten the exchange of protective practices during shift changes, prolonged repair scenarios, and in multi-employer worksites. And, of course, a question and answer period for you to have your priorities addressed.
