2016 Rising Stars of Safety: Taking safety to a new level
The National Safety Council presents the Rising Stars of Safety, Class of 2016
Brandon Goings
Age 37
HSE Supervisor
Fluor Corp.
Liberty, TX
“Mr. Goings developed and facilitated a leading indicator initiative at his projects in 2015 and this year. He expanded the measurement and trending of inspection data generated by weekly management safety inspections from generic information in a corporate checklist to include behaviors observed by the management team and the craft workforce. His initiative expanded the data trended from five categories to over 22 categories, which included behavioral aspects such as Exposure to Line of Fire, Eyes and Mind on Task, New Employee Mentorship, Observation of Short Cuts, and Stop Work Authority. This data was used to identify trends and focus team efforts, which helped his project reach over a half-million work hours without an OSHA recordable injury last year.”
