“Keeping in view the poor trend of near-miss reporting at site, Employee Safety Perception Survey of around 50 percent of the employees and Saf- ety Assessment Survey of Safety Professionals across the organization is carried out. The results were compiled and based on it, a strategy is devised to improve the near-miss reporting within organization and enhance safety culture within organization. Recommendations were prepared and forwarded to the higher management. As a first step, developed an interactive training session on importance of near-miss reporting and conducted its trainings. Its importance was highlighted in departmental safety meetings. As a result, the awareness of near-miss reporting to prevent accidents has been increased and its reporting trends are improved.”
