2016 Rising Stars of Safety: Taking safety to a new level
The National Safety Council presents the Rising Stars of Safety, Class of 2016
Peter Gregory
Age 38
NY Metro SH&E Manager
AECOM
Clifton, NJ
“In 2014, Peter served as the top safety manager for an OSHA VPP Star operations and maintenance contract at an urban light rail system. In 2013, approximately 75 percent of the project’s OSHA recordable injuries either resulted from slips, trips and falls or ergonomic-related soft tissue injuries. Within the course of a year, the project experienced a 50 percent decrease of OSHA recordable injuries and lost-time accidents. These reductions were directly attributable to a number of safety initiatives led by Peter that included facilitating greater upper management visibility and increasing employee safety engagement through the implementation of a new hazard recognition/reporting program.”
