2016 Rising Stars of Safety: Taking safety to a new level
The National Safety Council presents the Rising Stars of Safety, Class of 2016
Muhammad Usman Khan
Age 30
HSE Manager
Hub Power Co. Ltd., Narowal Site
Punjab, Pakistan
“Usman started off with a safety audit training to all his peers and management staff, focusing on how to observe unsafe conditions/acts at site during an audit, how to record them, how to make a contact with a worker and keep following up until observation gets closed. Initially he accompanied all his peers/ managers on safety audits and trained them at site. A Whatsapp group was created for all management staff and it was mandatory for all personnel to share their status on the group whenever anyone was travelling to or from the site. It is mandatory to share a safety moment before every meeting now.”
