2017 Rising Stars of Safety: 'Eliminating preventable deaths'
The National Safety Council presents the Rising Stars of Safety, Class of 2017
Michael Dardar
34
Vice President, HSE
RES Contractors Inc.
Plattenville, LA
“Michael has always held the firm belief that if the organization focuses on the leading indicators of HSE performance, then the lagging metrics would respond to that in positive manner. In 2012, he, along with key members of senior management, implemented the SWAT (Safe Workplace Awareness Team) Committee. As a primary function of this committee, facilities were asked to promote BBSO, Hazard Hunts, and focused risk assessments, and to set targets locally for each. Since the time of that implementation, our corporate EMR decreased from .88 to .68, indicating a significant achievement in loss control.”
