“Ashley was presented with an employee concern of manually moving pallets of final product along a conveyor line to be stretch-wrapped. She spent time personally observing and discussing the concern with the individuals involved so she could assess the potential exposures. Recognizing a body movement that presented issues, Ashley obtained the proper measuring tool to measure the forces required to manually move the pallets. When the gauge showed excessive force, Ashley presented the situation to management and advocated purchasing a powered conveyor belt to move the pallets to an automatic stretch wrapper. Ashley prevented a routine workplace ergonomic exposure by simply listening to concerns from an employee and taking the initiative to make a change.”
