2017 Rising Stars of Safety: 'Eliminating preventable deaths'
The National Safety Council presents the Rising Stars of Safety, Class of 2017
Nathan Slavin
36
Director of Safety
The Bozzuto Group
Greenbelt, MD
“Nathan’s expectations for each and every worker on all of our projects has been a big help to guide a clear message that safety is important. Nathan is currently working with our marketing team to put a face and name with this initiative that we are calling S.A.F.E. – Stop And Focus Every time. The goal of this slogan is to relate everyday life to work activities. When we go to the gym, everyone stretches before lifting 50 pounds. How many of us stretch before we lift 50 pounds at work? We all know how to work safely and protect ourselves, but if we Stop And Focus Every time we perform a task, we can achieve the goal of going home safely every day.”
