Hafiz Muhammad Umer Javed
Age: 27
HSE Engineer
M&A Group Energy and Petroleum Services
Erbil, Iraqi-Kurdistan
“Hafiz started analyzing data of lower back pain complaints and sick leaves. He found that some employees were using chairs that have a higher rate of risk related to back pain, resulting in sick leaves. He initiated a campaign, ‘I’m Healthy,’ to raise awareness about the issue through training, distributing brochures and flyers. As a result, office chairs were replaced with ergonomically designed ones. He also developed a system to report ergonomically unsafe acts.”
